Hey, I’m Jonathan. 😊
I was born in China, grew up in America, and moved to Canada during high school. I attended Trinity College at the University of Toronto, where I studied philosophy (with a minor in English). I led the Hart House Investment Fund, Canada’s oldest student-run investment fund, in my final year.
As a student, I worked in the private security industry and interned at a bank. The former led to a lot of great stories. The latter resulted in my first career after graduation.
Eventually, I quit to see the world. I went on two round-the-world trips and lived in New York City for a year and a half.
I prize curiosity and open-mindedness. No idea is off limits during a brainstorming session. I intentionally cultivate relationships with people of all ages, professions, ideologies, life experiences, and so on. Doing so can be uncomfortable, but it is necessary to maintain a broad worldview.
